How Your Fears Lead You to Your Liberation
Worst case scenario fears, alligator medicine, and letting love reign
The other week I had a new client come to see me for tattoo ceremony. She was young, successful, financially secure, smart, beautiful, traveled all around the world, and had loving intimate relationships…what instagram would totally call a dream life.
But she carried a strong masculine energy that led her to hold a lot more responsibility than she needed to in life, a weight that kept her in stagnant life-loops (you know, those daily routines where you get up, have coffee, go to work, make dinner, binge-watch TV, and go to bed, that fill most humans day-to-day) and disconnected her from her creativity/fertility to evolve in the way she was desiring to on a soul level.
As we followed the energy of ceremony we got to a place of dissecting her fears. She told me how she almost always brings the worst case scenario of any situation to her mind, but was afraid of saying those scenarios out loud. I told her how this is a trauma response that is fed by the energy of control. When we don’t trust in life (creation), we will imagine every worst case scenario (death) so that our minds can attempt find safety and feel in control if something were to go “wrong.” It is a neural-pattern that is adopted when we don’t feel safe in life, or we feel a deep responsibility for creating safety for others, because this world is not safe for them, and often, they are connected (carrying responsibility as a way to distract ourselves from facing our own fears and just letting go and letting ourselves experience ease, trust, expanse, and feminine flow in life because we don’t believe we deserve it). We try to control every outcome with our minds to ensure safety by figuring our way through every situation. If we can survive in our imaginations, maybe we can survive IRL, right? But how can we thrive if we are always using our mental energy to try to survive?
